My legs are finally starting to feel normal again since our hike down the mountain! We started our class at the University of Cape Town on Monday, and have been going there everyday this week. University of Cape Town (UCT) is a beautiful campus, and there are views of Table Mountain all around it. Each day we’ve been having speakers come in to talk to us about education in South Africa, and social issues going on, but the most exciting event of the week was meeting Jonathan Jansen. He is the author of the book we read “Knowledge in the Blood”.. what a powerful speaker! I was able to get a picture with him and he signed my book :) We’ve been eating a TON of lamb for dinner every night, it seems like lamb is the most common meat to eat in South Africa. Corvell’s mom has been cooking us our lunches and dinners each day, and we were able to meet his family. Tomorrow we’re going to an orphanage and disability center for children, and seeing Harry Potter!! I’m not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I have to say, I’m pretty excited to see the finale before anyone else back in the U.S. That’s all for now, baie dankie!
